This tour of Forlì in the footsteps of the Supreme Poet starts from Porta Schiavonia, the entrance area to the city that still today connects it to Firenze and runs through the Acquacheta’s valley (the Montone river).
From Schiavonia the itinerary continues towards the city center, along perhaps one of the oldest connections between the outside and the city center, Corso Garibaldi, passing in front of Palazzo Albicini, where the Ordelaffi “Caxa Granda” stood.
From here, passing through the Cathedral of Santa Croce, you reach the main square, the scene of the “bloody pile” mentioned in Hell, where the bell tower of the Abbey of San Mercuriale stands out.
